Every organization and corporation is now aware that a social media presence is a must. Of the myriad problems that come from entering into a dialogue with consumers and customers, one of the most complex is how to orchestrate the social media strategy and management internally. Each internal team from PR to advertising has an agenda for social media, and the conflicts become more pronounced when a corporation has member institutions (such as a franchisee model). The U.S. Marine Corps faced similar problems when rolling out its social media program – not only did the program have to address the needs of a national brand strategy, but also had to work on a local level to support the recruiter. Learn from the agency leaders who created the strategy behind the program as well as the recruiters who use it on the local level.
